NRKSHOP kicked off in 2023, born from a spark of passion that flickered to life in the dusty corners of thrift shops. I’m Simas, the founder, and it all started with a restless curiosity and a pair of worn-out boots destined for the trash heap. Armed with little more than a brush, shoe polish, some glue, and a stubborn refusal to let good things go to waste, I began rescuing these forgotten boots — polishing bruised leather, restitching frayed seams, and breathing new life into what others had given up on. Each pair told a story, and I became obsessed with rewriting their endings.
Then came the game-changer: New Rock. I stumbled across a pair of vintage New Rocks—those chunky, rebellious beauties from the ‘90s—at a second-hand stall, their rubber soles defiantly tough and thick. The unique look—part goth, part punk, all attitude—and their rich history, rooted in the Ortuño family’s Spanish craftsmanship, hooked me. I dove headfirst into the world of vintage New Rocks, hunting down rare models, each one a time capsule of bold design and enduring quality. What started as a hobby turned into a mission: to restore these icons and share their legacy.
Picture me in my small room, surrounded by jars of leather balm, aerosol sprays and stacks of New Rocks. Friends started calling me the “Boot Whisperer”, and soon, friends and family were knocking, asking if I could revive their own relics. That’s when NRKSHOP was born—a haven for those who see beauty in the worn, the unique, and the stories etched into every crease.
